The increase in listings are coming right at the time when first-time home buyers are really getting busy and serious about buying before the April 30 tax credit deadline. In Leawood there were 41 new listings in February and 39 through March 14. The 80 new listings ranged in
price from $147,500 - $1,429,000; the average list price of all homes is over $500,000 with homes in Hallbrook ranging from $700k to $3.5 mil. Prices for homes in Leawood are on average much higher than other suburbs in the area. In addition, most of the homes are older with some going back to 1925.
